Raising Awareness Together: NAMI Suicide Prevention Month Toolkit 2025
September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to come together as a community to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and share resources that can save lives. At Omega Physicians, we are committed to supporting our patients, families, and community with tools that promote mental health and well-being.
This year, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has released its 2025 Suicide Prevention Month Toolkit, designed to make it easier for individuals, families, and organizations to take part in this important movement.
What's in the Toolkit?
The NAMI Suicide Prevention Month Toolkit includes:
- Educational Resources: Information on recognizing warning signs, understanding risk factors, and ways to offer support.
- Awareness Materials: Shareable graphics, social media posts, and key messaging to spread awareness online and in your community.
- Action Steps: Guidance on how to start conversations, organize events, and advocate for better access to mental health care.
- Support Links: Resources for individuals and families who may be struggling, including hotlines and crisis support options.
Why This Matters
Mental health is health. By talking openly about suicide and mental illness, we can break down barriers and encourage those in need to seek help without fear of stigma. Every conversation and every shared resource can make a difference.
How You Can Get Involved
- View the Toolkit: Visit NAMI's website to access the full 2025 Suicide Prevention Month Toolkit, or find it on this blog or on our socials.
- Start the Conversation: Share information with friends, family, or coworkers.
- Reach Out: If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that help is available.
